Use of Handheld Devices and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) in Higher Education

Technology Evaluation:

One of the missions of the Center for Instructional Technologies is to provide processes for the evaluation of technology within the teaching and learning environment. Here is a list of products that we are currently evaluating.

• ElementK
  A technology training resource providing just-in-time learning modules on a variety of subjects.
• Macromedia Contribute
  A wysiwyg web-page editor which has drop and drag functionality for adding content to pages and eliminates the need to edit the "code".
• Mimio XI
  A whiteboard capture tool. This tool will attach to any whiteboard and capture the content that is written on the board.
• NetOp School
  A networked classroom management package that allows you to chat with students, monitor their progress, or remote control their desktop.
